Ellen Hopkins boy is she a good reader! I have read her books Crank, burned, and impulse and I want to read the other series or books. The book smoke is part 2 of the book burned. What happens in burned is this girl who is comes from a very religious background I would like to say Mormon. She gets involved in the teenager stage of wanting to fall in love and kissing and so on. When she meets a guy from church she thought she was in love with him and thought he was perfect for her. But what happens is they go into the woods to talk, well thats what she thought. Where come to find out she was raped by this guy. Her father thinks she is heading down the wrong track. Her father is an alcoholic and abuses her sisters. His father would have sex with her mother a lot where they had 6 children and he wasn't going to stop having children until he gets a son. But what would happen is the mother wouldn't take care of her children she left it up to her two oldest daughters Paityn and Jackie. But as soon as Paityn (the girl who was raped) got sent off to her aunts in California, Jackie had to take care of the other children alone. Paityn's aunt was so nice and nothing like her father at all. She would give Paityn slack and become a close friend to her. Paityn ended up telling her aunt what her father does to the children and her mother back at home. While Paityn was up there she found this boy name Ethan. He was a sweet heart, he would hold her, they would have a couple beers together, go on walks, and so on. Towards the end of the summer Paityn was suppose to go back home so she can attend school, but she was madly in love with Ethan. So before she left they made "love" together and promised each other they will call or text each other all the time.
When Paityn came home she was happy and would take care of the younger kids and go to school. But one day she didn't receive her period, so she took a pregnancy test and found out she was pregnant. She knew that if her father would find out about Ethan or the baby he would hurt both of them. So she called Ethan and he was going to come and pick her up and they were to run away together. But the boy who raped Paityn saw that she left with this man and called her father, her father called the cops saying she was kidnapped. The cops found Ethan and Paityn in Ethans truck. Ethan wanted to pull over and told Paityn he wasn't leaving her, but she didn't want to stop she wanted him to out run the cops. While they were trying to decided a truck came by and hit Ethan and Paityn. Paityn woke up in the hospital bed seeing her aunt next to her. She asked about Ethan and she received the news that Ethan was killed instantly. She then asked about the baby. She lost that too. Everything she had/wanted was gone.
In the book smoke, she ends up shooting her father because her sister was raped by a guy in the same woods. Jackie told her father that she was raped and he said you deserve it because she went into the woods. He then started calling her a whore, slut and started beating her in the face and in the ribs. Paityn wasn't going to take it anymore so she shot her father and he died from the one shot. Paityn and Jackies mom gave Paityn the kids to the fathers car, and all the cash she had and told her to run away so she won't be put in jail. As soon as the cops arrived Paityn was gone and Jackie was sent to the hospital. Paityn trying to be strong and going where ever the road takes her. She starts writing a diary, and she found a friend who she helped take care of her baby and ends up finding another job in hiding. As for her sister, she struggles to get through her mom that her husband was a monster. She worries about Paityn and where she is at. Jackie also gets a vaginal exam the cops thinks its the fathers, but once they do the DNA they will soon find out who actually did it.
This is where I am at now and will keep you posted on what is going on and how the book finished.

The Unforgiving Minute
There are some military books that people love to read. I always thought that I wouldn't like them due to my husband being in the military I wouldn't like because of the thoughts I would get when my husband would be deployed. The Unforgiving Minute is by.
This soldier goes to basic, AIT, and he also goes to ranger school. This soldier loves to read, he soon got the chance to go to a different country and study with a lot of books. That is where he met his wife! As soon as he was done with studying he ended up coming back to America and was going to get ready for deployment in Afghan. As he was in charge of a group they made a huge mistake and he lost soldiers on his call. It affected him but he ended up learning from it and making a difference in the rest of the soldiers lives for the next time he deployed. This is my favorite book that I would recommend to anyone! Especially soldiers and their dependents. Every blog is going to be over a book. It can be a childs book (I am currently on getting my bachelors degree in Elementary Education), a teens book, adults, any kind of book I have read.
